*Only Grace*
John 8:3-11, 2 Corinthians 12:9
Ok, we are driving to Church this morning and my roommate bought a new CD, well new to him, Matthew West's "History", and we kept replaying two songs. One stuck out to me called only grace. After researching if was written based on two scriptures. The story of the woman caught in adultary, which is one of my favorite stories in scripture. This is a story where the teachers of the law and the Pharisees had caught a woman in the act of adultary, they bring her to Jesus as ask him what should be done. Jesus bends down and writes in the sand, adn says whoever is without sin, let him cast the first stone. So of course they all leave because no one is without sin. Which is a point we ALL need to remember. None of us are without sin, there is no condemnation only grace. So the next time you are tempted to judge or comdemn somebody for a sin, remember you have sinned and do not want anyone to judge you, because you and everyone else is not judge, we are not God, nobody elected you General Manager of the universe, so remeber.
So here are the lyrics to Mathew West's "only Grace"
There is no guilt hereThere is no shameNo pointing fingersThere is no blameWhat happened yesterdayHas disappearedThe dirt has washed awayAnd now it’s clearChorus:There’s only graceThere’s only loveThere’s only mercyAnd believe me it’s enoughYour sins are goneWithout a traceThere’s nothing left nowThere’s only graceYou’re starting over nowUnder the sunYou’re stepping forward nowA new life has begunYour new life has begunChorus:And if you should fall againGet back up, get back upReach out and take my handGet back up, Get back upGet back up againChorus: (2x’s)
